KUCHING: SUPP Youth will be launching a Facebook page soon with the hope it can help reduce crimes in the state.

The page will serve as an information sharing platform for the general public.

SUPP Youth chief Tan Kai said the page, which had yet to be named, would highlight crime prone areas and gather feedbacks from the public about criminal activities.

“Looking at the success of our higher education Facebook page, it is high time a page is dedicated to crime prevention for the benefit of the community,” he said at SUPP headquarters here yesterday.

He added information and data gathered from the page would be shared with the police and people from crime-prone communities through dialogues.

Tan said the page would also be used to advise those who had

lodged police reports to approach SUPP Crime Prevention Task

Force for assistance in doing follow-ups.

“The page will also serve to promote and uphold the spirit of neighbourhood watch.”

Tan said all information received by the Facebook page would be vetted by a team of moderators.
