MIRI: Grandmother Sauyah Abdullah, 85, was touched by the assistance her family received from concerned parties.
The Muslim convert living at Kampung Tanjong Batu thanked those who had helped bring her cheer in making preparations for the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Since her hardship was highlighted in The Borneo Post and Utusan Borneo on Aug 2, her house has been visited by various parties.
Apart from gifts of household essentials, the grandmother has received duit Raya.
One individual agreed to pay for the earthen floor of her living area to be turned into concrete.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m really grateful. Thanks to those who bring relief to my family,” she told The Borneo Post.
The latest contribution was from Sarawak Workers’ Party (SWP) Youth group who led by its deputy information chief Nancy Nais, donated food rations.
“We are giving poor families food rations during Ramadan. We know that when you give something, God will multiply it.”
“We hope this act of charity will open people’ hearts and minds to help those in need.”
Also present was the Women chief of PBB Kampung Tanjong Batu branch.
