PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) is sending 15 participants as Malaysian representatives to the United Nation’s 12th Youth Assembly in New York in the United States of America (US) from Aug 7 to 9.
Its president, Mohamed Maliki Mohamed Rapiee, said it would be Malaysia’s first participation at such an event.
It is part of the Malaysia-US programme: Involvement of Youth Leadership and United Nation’s Friendship organised by the council with the cooperation of the Youth and Sports Ministry, as well as the Foreign Ministry, from Aug 5 to 18 in New York, he told a media conference here today.
He said the Malaysia delegation would comprise seven men and seven women, adding that besides attending the assembly, they would also meet Malaysian students at the University Maryland and visit the White House.
Mohamed Maliki said MYC would also sent a group of five participants for the ‘Youth Mission of Malaysia to United Nations’ in October. — BERNAMA
