KUCHING: Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) secretary-general Abdullah Julaihi wished a Selamat Hari Raya to all as Sarawak gears up for their Malaysia Cup match on Aug 20.

Abdullah said despite the festivities the team remains focused on trying to capture the elusive silverware this year.

“On behalf of FAS we would like to say thank you and wish a Selamat Hari Raya to all supporters, fans, media and all who supported Sarawak all this while. We will continue to move forward,” he added.

Abdullah was happy to see the team winning their first trophy in 15 years after emerging Premier League champions this year.

It was made even more memorable as the Crocs finished unbeaten for the first time ever in the league tournament.

Abdullah said FAS and the Crocs were looking forward to continued support from the fans for the Malaysia Cup challenge.

He disclosed that the team would resume training tomorrow.

This year’s Malaysia Cup competition will see Sarawak in Group D with Kedah, Perak and Singapore Lions XII.

For the curtain-raiser, the Crocs will take on Perak away in Ipoh while the team will play their first home match at the Stadium Negeri on Aug 24 against Singapore Lions XII.

Sarawak coach Robert Alberts commented recently that there are no easy matches in the Malaysia Cup competition.
