SHAH ALAM: Red Carpet@i-City, the latest attraction at i-City in Section 7 here, aims to attract 30,000 visitors a month after the official launch, said I-Bhd director, Monica Ong.

She said the company was confident of achieving the target, as i-City currently attracted 90,000 visitors weekly.

“We are confident about our target.

“We are running a lot of promotional activities in our quest to make our latest attraction an ideal entertainment centre for the whole family,” she told reporters after a preview of the Red Carpet@i-City here yesterday.

The Red Carpet, costing RM25 million, is Malaysia’s first all-star interactive wax museum.

It is also the first of its kind in the region as the exhibits possess both voice and motion capabilities.

The museum will feature 100 wax figures of famous people from history and contemporary personalities of today.

She said the wax figures will be showcased in a 3,000 square feet (sq ft) Oscar-like awards setting and will be separated into six themes – World Icons, Celebrities, Sport Stars, World Book of Records, All Stars Café and Interactive.

Ong said the museum will be another Malaysian-owned international product and attraction for Visit Malaysia 2014 for both international and local visitors.

“The unveiling of Red Carpet is timely in that Visit Malaysia 2014 is around the corner,” she said.

In conjuction with the opening, Red Carpet@i-City will be offering a special package tickets for two adults and two children at RM180, she said.

Ong said the normal ticket prices were RM100 for an adult and RM50 for a child. — Bernama
