KOTA KINABALU: A 59-year-old man was found dead inside a room of a budget hotel at Kampung Air here yesterday.
The deceased, identified as Charles Lai @ Lai Keat Phen, was found dead by hotel staff lying on the bed around 12.30pm.
Charles had been staying in the hotel for several days.
Deputy city police chief Superintendent M. Chandra, when contacted yesterday, said there was no evidence of any criminal elements in the case which has been classified as ‘sudden death’.
He said the body of the deceased had been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.
