MIRI: Kereta Mewah Sdn Bhd yesterday unveiled this year’s most anticipated car from Proton – the Proton Suprima S.
Fully loaded with cutting-edge features, this new sporty hatchback from Proton delivers lots of state-of-the-art features and is technically engineered for performance and handling.
With a distinct signature grille, sporty front bumper, headlights and bonnet, the Suprima S meets the latest niche of a sports car in not just looks but the feel.
This is because its 1.6-litre turbocharge engine which generates an impressive 103kw of power at 5000 rpm, can propel the car to a top speed of 190km/h. The turbocharger gives the car the equivalent performance of a 2.0-litre vehicle with a 1.6-litre fuel economy.
And when it comes to handling, Proton has bestowed the car with Lotus tuning which gives the Suprima S a zero to 100km/h acceleration in under 10 seconds.
As mentioned, its cutting edge features include auto cruise, automatic light and rain sensors, engine push start button, GPS navigation system, Proton infortainment system, reverse sensor, six airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, immobiliser and reinforced steel structure chassis as an added safety feature in the event of a collision.
Hence, safety aspects have also been engineered into the Suprima S, in which the car has scored a 5-star rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).
With the paddle shift at the steering wheel, shifting gears is as easy as flicking your fingers, which gives drivers a new level of control and enjoyment in driving.
The Suprima S comes in two variants, namely Executive and Premium with price tags from RMRM78,338 to RM81,988. Its colour options include Atlantic Blue, Fire Red, Genetic Silver, Solid White and Tranquility Black which come with either solid or metallic.
