KUCHING: Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan (Four Points) is giving you another reason to come over and experience all that Sandakan – the second largest city in Sabah – has to offer, with its many natural and historical attractions, proving it to be a fascinating touristic lure.

Four Points is currently offering its new ‘Easy Sandakan’ tour packages, which allows you to choose your own adventure from three options.

If you opt to experience the City Tour, you will enjoy an exploration of the Sandakan Heritage Trail, which is a comprehensive walk through the beautiful town, dotted with various heritage attractions.

The walk starts at the historical Masjid Jamek, and leads to the Pryer Memorial, a statue to honour the founder of Sandakan, William B Pryer.

“If you are up for it, we recommend you to climb up the hundred steps and be rewarded at the top with a spectacular view of the entire town of Sandakan,” Four Points said.

Another highlight of this tour is the Agnes Keith’s House which is a fascinating museum to visit for anyone who is familiar with Agnes Newton Keith’s three-part autobiography.

In addition, this adventure also takes you back to 100 years ago with places such as St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, Sam Sing Kung (Three Saints) Temple, Goddess of Mercy Temple and what remains of an old staircase which is thought to be from the Consulate building of the pre-war Chinese Government.

Overall, the Sandakan Heritage Trail offers a great opportunity for adventurers to get lost in the history and beauty that is Sandakan.

The City Tour packages are available in two options with Option 1 priced from RM277 per room per night for a two days one night stay whilst Option 2 is priced from RM243 per room per night for a three days two nights stay.

Both options offer complimentary breakfast for two persons at the hotel’s signature restaurant, The Eatery, and a half day city tour through the Sandakan Heritage Trail.

If you are more of a nature lover, why not embark on an adventure of discovery with nature and its wildlife and opt for the Eco Tour package.

Your adventure will start at the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary which is the rehabilitation center for rescued orphaned baby Orang Utans located within the Kabili Sepilok Forest Reserve. This will give you the opportunity to watch them up close in their natural habitat.

From thereon, the adventure continues to either the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, where you will have chance to observe Borneo’s unique indigenous Proboscis Monkey not found anywhere else in the world, or the Sukau Kinabatangan Wildlife Safari that offers a journey of discovery of wildlife that lives by the river, including birds, snakes, monkeys and if you are lucky, even elephants and crocodiles, all living in this rehabilitation safari,” Four Points added.

The Eco Tour package is priced from RM440 per room per night for a three days two nights stay inclusive of complimentary breakfast for two persons at The Eatery and a full day tour.

These packages are valid till December 30, 2013 and are not applicable with other special offers and promotions. Advance reservation is required and other terms and conditions apply.
