KOTA KINABALU: A foreign woman died after being allegedly stabbed with a knife by her husband yesterday in a worker’s shack at a construction site in Taman Deluxe, Kampung Ganang, Kepayan.

After being stabbed, the victim is said to have crawled out of the wooden dwelling before collapsing on a deck at the front door.

The body of the victim, whose identity could not be immediately identified but is believed to be in her 50s, was found with several stab wounds around 9.45am.

City police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun, when met at the scene yesterday, said initial police investigation showed the victim was murdered by her husband after a heated argument.

“Police found stab wounds in the victim’s body, believed to be inflicted with a sharp object,” he said, adding that a knife believed to be the murder weapon was found near the scene.

Jauteh said police have detained the victim’s husband, also in his 50s, around 10.30am after he surrendered.

The victim’s body was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
