TAWAU: Police patrolling Kampung Titingan area yesterday found four flying-feather darts and a catapult after a body-search on a 16-year-old Filipino youth who had tried to flee.
District police chief ACP Awang Besar Dullah said policemen patrolling the area at about 6.45am stopped the suspect, identified as Johan bin Azrail from Kampung Titingan, who was behaving in a suspicious manner, and found the dangerous weapons in the left pocket of the suspect’s pants.
He said the police, upon further inspection and search, found six more darts, a catapult and a sheathed knife about two meters from where the suspect was detained.
Awang said the suspect would be investigated under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive, Explosive and Dangerous Weapon Act 1958.
