TEMERLOH: A 47-year-old fishmonger was found dead with seven gunshot wounds at a sand dredging area near Kampung Buntut Pulau, Temerloh last night.

Pahang CID chief SAC Mohd Zakaria Ahmad said Abd Majid Abd Rahman, whose body was discovered by members of the public at 9.05 pm, had been reported missing by his wife.

“She said the victim left their house at Taman Setia Temerloh on Aug 18. She had gone to look for him on Aug 21 but only located his Proton Perdana car at an area near the sand dredging area,” he told Bernama here yesterday.

Mohd Zakaria said the post mortem by the forensic expert at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Temerloh hospital found seven gunshots to the victim’s head, chest, shoulders and thighs.

“Initial investigations found he was shot at close range. Police are investigating the motive and type of weapon used in the incident,” he said. — Bernama
