Christina made PKR Sabah deputy chief

KOTA KINABALU: The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) state leadership council will be chaired by Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Lajim Haji Ukin while Christina Liew has been appointed the deputy chairperson of the council.

Disclosing this to the press yesterday, Lajim also declared that vice chairmen (I), (II) and (III) are Jelin Danasap @ Jelani Hamdan, Dr Roland Chia Ming Shen and Stephen Sandor respectively.

Meanwhile, Datuk James Ghani has been appointed its secretary and will be assisted by Abdul Rahman Yakub (assistant secretary I), Datu Mustapha Haji Tambuyong (assistant secretary II) and George Tann Junior (assistant secretary III).

Terrence Siambun was appointed as the council’s treasurer while Teo Kian @ Teo Kia Kee was appointed as the assistant treasurer.

The information chief and assistant to the information chief were Jeremy Malajad and Taufick Ruchi.

Meanwhile, state committee members and branch heads for their respective constituencies are Ahmad Tamrin Jaini (Sandakan), Hassnar Ebrahim (Batu Sapi), Johani Abdul Halim (Silam), Lokman Ureh (Semporna), Mad Jun Nul (Kalabakan), Datuk Kong Hong Ming (Tawau), Sipin Kadande @ Ambrose (Beluran), Simsudin Sidek (Wilayah Persekutuan), Apandy Agindi (Pensiangan), Jonathan Yasin (Ranau), Gaibin Ransoi (Tuaran), Azrai Saum (Kota Belud), Akmain Sabtu (Kudat), Anthony Mandiau (Kota Marudu), Dojit Muda (Sipitang), Haji Awang Tengah Haji Awang Amin (Kimanis), Darell Leiking (Penampang) and Timothy Lim (Sepanggar).

Other state committee members who have been appointed were Bakir Mancaing, Matbee Ismail, Johair Matlani, Dahil Masdik, Amru Abdul Kadir, Tahir Mamong, Datuk John O.T. Ghani, Jaafar Ismail and Dr Zamree Abeh.

According to Lajim, the appointment of the Putatan and Tenom committee members would be announced soon.

He also said the Silam and Semporna constituencies had been made into one zone.

He added that he had considered the participation of all races and religion in the line-up.

“There is a balance between the seasoned and new leaders in the line-up as well as with women and youth participants of various professions to further strengthen the state PKR,” he said.

He expressed his confidence on the new leadership line-up’s ability.

Lajim also said the Barisan Nasional (BN) government had tried its best to reduce the support received by PKR.

He said BN, however, had failed to connect him to any wrongs and he attributed this to his refusal to take advantage of his post for his own gain as well as that of his family and followers.

“I work for the party and for the people, irrespective of creed and race,” he said.
