KUALA LUMPUR: Following the good response from the audience, the management of Lotus Five Stars Cinemas (LFSC) hopes the playing of ‘Negaraku’ before the start of a move in cinemas to continue to strengthen the spirit of patriotism among the people.

LFSC manager, Garuna Murthee, said the national anthem should continue to be played in cinemas even after the end of the 56th Merdeka Day celebration.

He suggested that the national anthem to be played during the weekends and festivals when the cinemas would be packed.

“However, we have several locations, like the Coliseum cinema at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, where the Negaraku cannot be played because the song format that we receive is not compatible with our machine,” he added.

Garuna said during the initial stage, some members of the audience found it weird to listen to the national anthem in cinemas, but the LFSC management made sure that all of them stood up to respect the song when it was played. — Bernama
