KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia Airports Bhd advises all passengers travelling via Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) Terminal 2 on Sept 16 to plan their journey to the terminal, ahead.

This is to avoid any delays for passengers in reaching the terminal for their flights because ‘Hari Sambutan Perayaan 50 Tahun Sabah Maju Jaya Dalam Malaysia’, will be held on September 16 at Prince Philip Park in Tanjung Aru.

“Ideally, passengers using Terminal 2 on September 16 are to reach the terminal at least four hours earlier before departure to avoid being caught in traffic jams heading to Terminal 2.

“Passengers using the main terminal at KKIA are also advised to continue observing proper time management to ensure timely arrival to the airport,” said Malaysia Airports in a statement yesterday.

Malaysia Airports will continue to work with the relevant authorities such as the police and Road Transport Department (RTD) to minimise hassle to passengers travelling to the airport on that day.

Passengers are also advised to contact their respective airlines for any further queries.

The event, which will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak, is expected to draw approximately 50,000 people and will commence from 7pm until 10.30pm.
