Seven cases of pirating KL Gangster 2 film being investigated so far

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven case of piracy are being investigateds by the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry so far in connection with the film “KL Gangster 2′ which has been uploaded and distributed via the Internet.

Its minister Datuk Hasan Malek said 57 pirated VCDs of the movie had also been seized, in Langkawi, Kapit, Putrajaya, Kulim and Melaka.He told this to reporters after attending the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia’s (MyIPO) 10th anniversary bash here Friday night.

Hasan said the offenders could be charged under the Copyright Act 1987.

Also present was the producer of the film, Datuk Yusof Haslam.

Yusof said he was disappointed that the yet to be released movie had been pirated and called for stern action to be taken against the culprits involved. — BERNAMA
