BNM issues three M’sia Day commemorative coins

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has issued three coins to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the formation of Malaysia yesterday.

In a statement yesterday, BNM said the coins were made of 999.9 gold, coloured silver (999) and ‘Nordic’ gold and they were priced at RM1,800, RM200 and RM10 respectively.

The face value of the gold, coloured silver and Nordic gold coins are RM100, RM10 and RM1, with the image of Jalur Gemilang in the centre.

The commemorative coins have the words ‘PERAYAAN HARI MALAYSIA’ ‘50 Tahun’ and ‘16 SEPTEMBER 1963-2013’ inscribed on their face, while the back of the coins show the image of the Jata Negara (Coat of Arms of Malaysia) and the map of Malaysia other than the words ‘BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA’.

The coins can also be purchased in a three-in-one set at a price of RM2,100 each or in a two-in-one set, containing the coloured silver and Nordic gold coins, at a price of RM250 each.

They will be made available from today at BNM Arts Gallery and Museum in Sasana Kijang and its regional offices in Penang and Johor Baharu and branches in Kuala Terenganu, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Kuching, Sarawak. — Bernama
