KUALA LUMPUR: Sabahans have been urged to ignore rumours circulating since yesterday about another threat in Lahad Datu.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said there was no truth in rumours that the police had ordered a curfew in Lahad Datu due to the so-called threat.

“Do not believe the rumours perpetrated by certain elements to cause fear among Lahad Datu residents.

“There’s no such threat, the situation there is under control. There’s nothing to worry about,” he told reporters after chairing the eight National Blue Ocean Strategy meeting between the police and the armed forces here yesterday.

Khalid urged the people to go about their daily activities as usual as the security forces were maintaining land, sea and aerial surveillance. — Bernama
