KUCHING: Alcatel One Touch via its distributor, Ten Ten Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Ten Ten)  launched the new Alcatel One Touch Idol X and the Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini in Kuching yesterday.

The Alcatel One Touch Idol X boasts a sleek and basic design with softly rounded corners and sides while carrying a slightly brushed metal look despite being hard plastic.

The phone has a five inch full HD IPS screen with a 1.5 gigahertz quad-core processor running the show.

The Idol X has a 0 inch bezel which creates the illusion of an even bigger screen while the full lamination technology means better performance under sun light.

The IPS screen also offers the best viewing angle with more than 170 degrees.

KL Kong, the country manager Alcatel One Touch, noted that, “We are very optimistic with the Malaysian market after having two successful launches and market acceptance since the end of last year.”

Steven Tan, CEO of Ten Ten further added that, “We will be pushing the market acceptance to the highest level.

The smartphone is equipped with great features matching all the current leading brands in the Malaysian market while boasting a low price point.

“We are really excited about gaining a larger piece of the market share.”

The sister of the Idol X, namely the Idol Mini is a more petite variant of the Idol series. Carrying a 4.3 inch IPS screen powered by a 1.3 gigaherz dual-core processor, it can perform well despite the petite size.

The Idol X is available in the market now while the Idol Mini will hit Sarawakian shores next week. The Idol X retails for RM1,099 while the Idol Mini carries a RM499 price tag.
