Suggestion for all parliamentary constituencies to have data base

A data base on the status of poor residents and interior areas which have yet to receive any basic facilities has been proposed to be set up in all parliamentary constituencies.

Datuk Bung Moktar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) told the Dewan Rakyat yesterday that by doing so it would enable the government to obtain latest information on residents and areas that had yet to receive basic facilities, like roads, electricity and clean water supply.

“One parliamentary constituency is different from another parliamentary constituency. We cannot compare residents in Kota Kinabalu with those living in my constituency. Their standard of living is different.

“That is why we need a data bank to enable the government to get latest information to make it easier to channel aid to the poor and provide basic facilities to their areas,” he said when debating the Supplementary Supply Bill.

Bung Moktar also suggested for the government to build security posts in water villages in Sabah for security members to keep watch against possible threats by pirates.  — Bernama
