KUCHING: The state civil service has introduced the ‘Group Business Process Reengineering’ (GBPR) with the cooperation of Malaysian Productivity Council (MPC) in a bid to restructure business licence and permits produced by the state ministry, department and agencies.

According to State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar MohamadMorshidi Abdul Ghani, the state government has identified 148 business permits and business licences from 22 agencies involving four ministries and 18 state agencies.

“From the total number, 81 of the licences or permits have been forwarded to be improved or merged with other relevant permits. It also involves other restructuring process such as the cutting of redtape, simplified application form and a combination of all elements,” said Morshidi.

“It is our wish that this step will provide an innovative and easier process in the state civil service by being efficient and fulfilling the expectation of the people,” he said.
