‘Rambo’ from Tambunan pleads guilty to three more charges

RAUB: A serial rapist from Tambunan, Sabah who is facing 133 years in prison and 50 lashes, yesterday pleaded guilty to three additional charges of rape, causing hurt and committing robbery at a Sessions Court here.

Rabidin Satir, 42, known as “Rambo Bentong”, admitted to raping a 28-year-old woman in front of her husband at the Bentong Forestry Department staff quarters in Bentong between 3.50am and 4.30am on Nov 3 last year.

The accused was also alleged to have put the victim’s in fear, resulting in injuries, which could lead to her death between 4.10am and 4.30am on the same day and place.

Both charges under Section 376 (2) of the Penal Code, carries a jail term of up to 30 years and whipping, upon conviction.

Rabidin also admitted to voluntarily causing hurt to the victim during the robbery between 3.50am and 4.30am on the same day and place.

The offence, under Section 394 of the same Act, carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping.

Sessions Court judge Shahrizat Ismail fixed Oct 31 for the court to study the facts of the case before sentencing.

On Feb 5, the unemployed Rabidin was sentenced to 115 years and 50 lashes after pleading guilty on four counts of rape and one count of unnatural sex on four female victims, aged between eight and 17, between 2009 and 2011.

On March 21, the accused was sentenced to another 18 years in jail after pleading guilty to attacking and injuring police constable Mohd Suhaimi Md Razali, 24, with a parang at a house No 43, Taman Shahbandar Husin, Bentong at about 6pm on Nov 14 last year.

In addition, he is also facing charges of raping and murdering Annie Kok Yin Cheng, 17, between 11.30pm on March 7, 2009 and 1.50pm on March 8, 2009 at Lot 4168 Kampung Ketari, Bentong.

The murder charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carries the mandatory death penalty.
