CM conveys condolences to plane crash victims’ families

SANDAKAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman on behalf of the state government conveyed condolences to the families of the two victims of the MASwings Twin Otter crash in Kudat.

Speaking to reporters at Sri Libaran yesterday, Musa expressed sadness over the incident that claimed two lives, including that of young co-pilot Marc Joel Bansh, 23.

“We hope the families of the victims stay strong and we pray for the speedy recovery of all injured passengers and the pilot,” he said.

Musa also urged the relevant authority to investigate the cause of the incident so that preventive measures could be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The incident happened at Kampung Sin San in the vicinity of Kudat Airport at 2.50pm on Thursday. Sixteen people were on board the MASwings’ Twin Otter DHC6 9M-MDM MH3002, of which 15 were Malaysians and the other a Filipino.

Bansh and a passenger, Tan Ah Chai, 96, died in the incident while six other people were injured.
