Stabbing case suspect remanded for seven days

KUALA LUMPUR: A suspect who stabbed two men to death and injured two women near the Taman Gombak and Taman Melati LRT stations, near here, on Thursday is being remanded for seven days from yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur CID deputy director, ACP Khairy Ahrasa said the 26-year-old man was being remanded until next Thursday for further investigation.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

In the 11.20am incident, the suspect armed with a Rambo knife ran amok, killing two men and seriously injuring two women.

The man who worked with a cigarette company had gone to a sundry shop at the Taman Gombak LRT station before stabbing the shop owner, Lau Siew Ling, 40, and her assistant Suliani Johari, 31.

He later left the place in his van and headed towards the Taman Melati LRT station, about three kilometres away, before colliding with another van and stabbed its driver, Lee Kah Ghee, 40, several times in the chest. Lee died at the scene.

The suspect continued to run amok when his van hit a car driven by a 25-year-old college student who was also stabbed to death. — Bernama
