KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of 134 participants of Projek Ladang Rakyat Kampung Mang near here received their certificates of participation from Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang.
The presentation ceremony was organised yesterday by the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) at the project site.
According to a press statement from LCDA yesterday, this project had cost more than RM7.9 million for development and maintenance from 2009 to 2012.
It was approved by the state government in 2008 where LCDA was appointed as trustee (Trustee Ownership) to develop the 418 hectaresof landfor the participants.
It is developed in accordance with the Ladang Rakyat concept with its main objectives to develop rural land into commercial estate and to increase participants’ income.
LCDA subsequently appointed Felcra Bhd as the developer of the project which is expected to yield its first profit in 2015.
Until Sept 30 this year, a total of 334 hectareshas been planted with oil palm.
Also present at the ceremony was the general manager of Felcra Bhd, Idris Lasim.
