Police constable charged with rape, gang robbery

PETALING JAYA: A police constable claimed trial in the Sessions Court here yesterday to raping a woman from China last month.

Mohamad Hafizan Ibrahim, 22, is alleged to have raped the victim aged 30, at Taman Megah here at 1.10 am on Sept 20.

Judge Hayatul Akmal Abdul Aziz set bail at RM10,000 with one surety and fixed Nov 29 for mention.

The accused was also charged in another Sessions Court with four other individuals
including another police constable with committing armed gang robbery on five women from China.

Mohamad Hafizan, Constable Khairulnizam Dolah Khairi, 32, Zainulazli Zahari, 30, Mohd Irham Abdul Rahman, 25, and Normazlina Kamardin, 34, claimed trial to robbing the victims aged between 20 and 30, of RM1,000 and five mobile phones, using a .38 revolver at the same place, time and date.

Judge Abu Bakar Manat set bail at RM10,000 with one surety each and set Nov 29 for mention. Deputy public prosecutor Tan Gin Han represented the prosecution. — Bernama
