KUCHING: Sarawak top scorer, Bobby Gonzales will not be with the Crocs next season.

A reliable source from Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) had told The Borneo Post yesterday that the Sabahan hitman had parted ways and was believed to have signed with PDRM.

According to the source, there were issues which could not be resolved between the 25-year-old striker and FAS which included his salary. The striker had confirmed on Nov 4 that his contract had yet to be renewed.

“While Sharol Saperi is still with us for next year but Bobby had gone to PDRM,” the source said on the latest news on the striker who scored 22 goals in the recent Premier League and FA Cup matches with four goals to his credit in the Malaysia Cup.

“It will take a little bit more time for the (FAS) president to announce the final line up of next year’s team because there are still issues which need to be addressed especially with the foreign imports,” the source added.

Fans were expecting an official announcement from FAS today especially on next year’s line-up after six players including star midfielder, Guy Bwele and former JDT striker, Mohd Azizan Baba were dropped from next year’s Sarawak Super League squad.

Twenty-nine-year old Sharol and Bobby were earlier tipped to leave for PDRM if their contracts were not renewed but the former had signed on just recently.

Sharol first played for Sarawak in the 2001 President Cup and later joined the senior squad in 2004.

Widely acclaimed as a prolific striker, Bobby had represented Malaysia in the Under-15, Under-18 and Under-23teams before joining Sarawak for the first time in 2005 under former state coach, Abdul Jalil Rambli.

The player who hailed from Beaufort, Sabah started playing for his home state in year 2003 at the age of 18 and had played alongside Malaysia’s top striker, Safee Saili.

He had played for KL Plus team and Brunei DPMM before joining Sarawak in 2011.

Sarawak’s camp will start training on Nov 28 before going for their friendly tour to Indonesia from Dec 7 – 20 where the squad will take on several local clubs in Batu Malang, Surabaya.
