Harimau Malaya beaten by Kuwait in international friendly

KUALA LUMPUR: Harimau Malaya were clearly no match for Kuwait when they were trounced 3-0 in an international friendly of ‘A’ status at the Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium in Kuwait today.

Three goals from the Al-Azraq squad (The Blues) coached by Brazilian Jorvan Vieira, were scored by Al Rashidi Ahmad (6th minute), Saif Al Hashan (34th) and Khaled Ajab (53rd).

The match was part of preparations of Harimau Malaya chief coach, Datuk K.

Rajagobal for the team in facing Bahrain in a Group D match in the qualifying round for the Asia Cup 2015 at the Bahrain National Stadium, Manama on Nov 15.

The Harimau Malaya squad will then return home to meet Qatar in another match at the Shah Alam Stadium four days later.

Malaysia are now in third spot of Group D with four points from a win, a draw and a loss. — BERNAMA
