RM11 mln spent on electricity in Sukau constituency

THE federal government had spent RM11,381,050 to bring electricity to six villages in the Sukau constituency, Rural Development Minister Datuk Radin Malleh said

“The projects under the Rural Electricity Supply are either completed or ongoing,” he said in reply to Sukau assemblyman Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman’s question of how many development projects and the cost spent for the constituency during the 10th Malaysia Plan.

On water supply, Radin said six projects costing RM142,283,561.50 had and were being implemented under the rural water supply.

Under the rural road project, a total of three roads costing RM46,839,210.50 had been built and 29 small projects among others, to build kampung roads costing RM4,587,350 had been implemented in Sukau by the Kinabatangan District Office, he said.

Radin added that all the allocations were given by the federal government through the Rural and Regional Development ministry or the Sabah Federal Development office.

Meanwhile, in reply to Bingkor assemblyman Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who asked what was the criteria needed to qualify to be included in the e-kasih list, Assistant Rural Development Minister Datuk Nilwan said they must be Malaysians who were earning less than RM1,080 (urban area) and RM1,120 (rural area).

“Individuals who wish to register for the assistance can do so at their respective District Offices by filling in the form and submitting the necessary supporting documents,” he said.
