Cafe Café the ‘hip’ place for food, car wash

KUCHING: Cafe Cafe at Original Carwash, Rubber Road here is the place to go for the ‘auto-mobile’, with an overhauled menu and more intimate ambiance for customers to wait out their car being washed and waxed-happy.

This is Cafe Café’s first foray into a city out of Sibu, having been established there for close to seven years, and it brings over the tradition from its chain in Sibu of providing exceptionally large portions at reasonable prices.

“This is a unique concept because the carwash is one of the biggest here in Kuching, providing car wash, vacuum and waxing services.

“So when customers come here, they can treat their car (to a car wash) while they treat themselves to a meal here, as we have an electronic system for the car services where a beeper will alert you once your car is done,” Henry He, one of the establishment’s partners told reporters at its official opening here recently.

He continued that the restaurant was divided into two sections, one smoking zone and one non-smoking, and that these sections could cater to a different penchant.

“Foodwise, we can cater for different functions by providing an a la carte menu or buffet style menu based on the occasion and needs,” he added.

Car wash starts at RM10 (outside only), wash and vacuum (including drink) starts at RM 17 and wash and wax (including drink) starts at RM50, depending on the size of the car.

Carwash operating hours are 8.30am to 8.30pm on weekdays and 8.30am to 6.30pm on weekends, while the restaurant opens from 11am to 11pm.

The establishment is closed on Mondays.

Members of the public are advised to call 082-256 396 for more information or to make reservations.
