TAWAU: Kumpuan BTC Berhad has launched its BTC membership card at one of its branches at BTC Textile Emporium Tawau yesterday.

Sports and Youth Minister, Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan officiated the function in the presence of Tawau Municipal Council (TMC) president Datuk Ismail Mayakob.

Tawfiq, in his speech, urged the community to always be thrifty and spend only as needed. He said BTC’s efforts in introducing the membership card gives various advantages and benefits to customers, thus he urged Tawau citizens to take the opportunity to buy items at cheaper prices apart from getting redemption of reward points.

The inaugural launching of the BTC membership card in Tawau is the first step for BTC to support the government’s efforts to strengthen the economy in Sabah. BTC is planning to do a follow-up launching at Lahad Datu and Kota Kinabalu next year.

During the launching yesterday, about 60 orphans from Rumah Anak Yatim Ar-Raudhoh received school bags, uniforms, ‘Malay’ attires and cash money.

BTC’s managing director, Datuk Haji Abdul Kadir M. E Sikkandar, said the inaugural launching held in Tawau is BTC’s way of saying thank you to Tawau citizens for their support since the opening of BTC Textile Emporium in 2012.

In conjunction with the launching, BTC is holding free registration of the membership card for a week from December 14 to 22. Redemption points start on December 15. Discounted price over and above normal discount will be on for two days, from December 14 to 15.

The company has been recognized as fair price shop by KPDNKK for two years in a row and is now offering the discounted price and special rewards especially for Tawau citizens.
