Cambodia, Sarawak can work together on hydropower – CM

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia: Sarawak and Cambodia can work together and share experiences in developing hydropower and the tourism sector.

Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud said this at a meeting with Cambodian Industry, Mines and Energy Minister Cham Prasidh and Tourism Minister Dr Thong Khon Tuesday.

“By working together, we can share our common interest to face the critics especially non-governmental organisation (NGO) and the developed nations,” he said.

Taib is continuing his working visit to Cambodia accompanied by a delegation of ministers and other dignitaries.

They include Malaysia’s Ambassador to Cambodia Raszlan Abdul Rashid, Second Minister of Finance Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, Second Minister of Resources Planning and Environment Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) Group CEO Datuk Torstein Dale Sjotveit, SEB chairman Datuk Amar Hameed Sepawi, Chief Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Abdullah Saidol, Batang Ai assemblyman Malcolm Mussen Lamoh,Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau and Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee.
