DROWNED: The body of Abdul Razak (covered) waiting to be taken to the hospital mortuary.

SIBU: A labourer was drowned after he slipped and fell into the river from a hanging toilet at Igan River during high tide yesterday morning.

The body of Abdul Razak was found at 3pm faced down on the river bed after the tide had gone down.

His son made the discovery near the toilet when he found the body of his 45-year-old father.

The 13-year-old boy told his family members.

Abdul Razak was from Matu Daro.

He and his family had been staying in a stilted house at Kampung Hilir built on Igan River bed while he started working here.

His family members said it was Abdul Razak’s habit to go to the toilet when he woke up early each morning before he went to work.

It was high tide yesterday morning when Abdul Razak was answering nature’s call.

His family members did not realise he had fallen into the river.

They thought he had left for work after he went to the toilet.

The police took the body to the hospital.
