KENINGAU: The Magistrate’s Court has imposed sentence of eight to ten strokes of light rattan cane to ten juvenile offenders who escaped from the Henry Gurney School here on October 19 this year.
Two of the juvenile offenders will each receive ten strokes of a light rattan cane under Section 379A of the Penal Code and eight other juvenile offenders will be whipped eight times under Section 224 of the Penal Code, in the sentences meted out by Magistrate Norhamizah Shaifuddin on Thursday. The sentences are to be effected on January 23, 2014 at the Magistrate’s Court here.
Meanwhile, the cases of four young offenders will be up for mention on December 30 after receipt of their social report.
