SIBU: Longhouse folk have been advised not to harbour ill will against each other as it could lead to disunity.

Ninth Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier General Damien @ Daniel Abdullah said this when officiating at the ‘Projek Jiwa Murni’ (Heart and Mind Project) programme at Rumah Bayang in Sungai Lengan near here last Friday.

“Discard negative mentality to bring down others due to jealousy. Such mentality would not only hamper self development, but also the whole community.

“Instead, think of ways to bring in development that would benefit yourself and others around you.”

The one-day programme was conducted by the Territorial Army 510 Regiment.

Damien also advised parents to make it a point to send their children to school as education would benefit them well later in life.

He also spoke of the importance of taking care of one’s health.

Also present were organising chairman Lieutenant Colonel Rusman Sanip and Tuai Rumah Bayang.
