KAPIT: Kapit Coffeeshop and Restaurant Owners’ Association (KCROA) members have been reminded to always deliver quality service to their customers.

Its chairman Kong Chin Hwa said this was important as they were in the food and drink business.

“Always bear in mind to also keep your shop neat and hygienic to win over the mind and heart of the customer.

“No customer wants to frequent a dirty shop. They (customers) are our banker. Without their patronage, we wouldn’t be able to prosper”, he said at the association’s annual general meeting (AGM) here recently.

The AGM was attended by members from Kapit and Song Bazaar.

On the pricing of food and drinks, Kong said it was up to the individual proprietors to decide on their respective price list as the association no longer had a say on this matter.

He added that the association used to have the authority to draw up a standardised price list, but this was no longer the case following amendment to a law that was passed in Parliament two years ago.

“Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind to keep the price within the permissible
range so as not to unduly
burden consumers or cause inflation.”
