Road, water still a pipe dream in Pulau Sebatik

TAWAU: The government has been urged to provide an immediate allocation to repair damaged roads and provide water supply in Kampung Bergosong, Pulau Sebatik.

Sebatik assemblyman Datuk Abdul Muis Picho said the villagers were dependent on wells and rainwater as they had no piped water supply.

“During my meeting with them, they had raised the need to repair the village roads, a distance of 10 kilometres, and to provide piped water supply to the village.

“As such, I hope the government will give an immediate allocation for these projects,” he said in a statement, here, yesterday.

Abdul Muis said he would endeavour to solve problems faced by the islanders and hoped that all quarters would cooperate in this. — Bernama
