KUCHING: Country music fans are expected to have a galloping good time with the Wandering Mustangs at the Miri Country Music Fest on Feb 15.

Playing country pop to bluegrass tunes, the Wandering Mustangs will also perform original compositions.

Based in Singapore, the band consists of well-known Southeast Asian drummer Kenny Hogan, guitarist Raggy and bassist Jay — all three of whom are also good singers.

To be held at Parkcity Everly Hotel, the festival also features Eia and the Superband (Brunei), Hi Breed (Kuching), Corn Cake Kings (Kuala Lumpur), D’Renegades (Kota Kinabalu), Mel & Joe (Singapore) and the Johnny Rodgers Band (Nashville, USA).

Festival-goers will enjoy bluegrass, folk and contemporary country music with an impressive mix of tempos for both the young and old.

Tickets are available at www.ticketxpress.com.my; Utopia in Kuching; Parkcity Everly Hotel and Planet Borneo Travel and Tour Services in Miri; as well as El Centro in Kota Kinabalu.

Priced at RM80 for adults and RM40 for children aged three to 12, the tickets are inclusive of one drink for adults and one soft drink or ice cream for children.

Other programmes lined up from 2pm are games and competition for adults and children, pony rides, line dance and drum workshops, as well as food stalls.

Organised by UCSI Communications Sdn Bhd, a full-fledged professional conference organiser (PCO) and a subsidiary of UCSI Group, the festival is endorsed by the Miri City Council and supported by Parkcity Everly Hotel, Planet Borneo Travel and Tours Services, as well as Curtin University Sarawak.
