SHAH ALAM: Selangor are eyeing at least two trophies out of the three at stake in their M-League campaign this season, according to FA of Selangor (FAS) president Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Abdul Khalid, who is also Selangor Menteri Besar, said he was confident that the Red Giants now coached by their 90s player Mehmet Durakovic, were up to the task.

“Under Mehmet, the players believe Selangor can relive their glory days,” he told a press conference called to unveil the team’s new jersey at the SACC Shopping Mall here today.

Meanwhile, Durakovic had this to say: “All I can say is that my players will give full commitment on and off the pitch. We have a young squad and it will take time to gain success.

“I want to bring back Selangor to their old glory days, the passion and also the crowd such as when I played with this team before.”

The 48-year Australian who signed a two-year contract with an option for a one-year extension added that hopes were high on him to end the team’s three-year barren run.

The three trophies at stake for Selangor are the Super League Cup, Malaysia Cup and FAM Cup.
