KUCHING: A man was badly beaten up by patrons at a karaoke outlet after he allegedly kicked a woman in the head and slashed her relative early yesterday.
The incident occurred around 1am in Matang Jaya when the 20-something man approached a table where a woman and her adopted sister were seated and allegedly kicked the former’s head.
The woman’s husband and a relative, who were also at the outlet, immediately confronted the man and a scuffle broke out.
The man was said to have whipped out a sharp weapon and slashed the relative on his forehead, prompting several male patrons in the karaoke outlet to join the melee and wallop the alleged attacker.
The bloodied man fled the scene, but was found later by police lying on a five-foot-way not far away.
He was subsequently taken to Sarawak General Hospital.
A police report over the incident has been lodged.
