SANDAKAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman graced the Maulidur Rasul celebration of the Prophet Muhammad birthday for Sandakan district at the district mosque in Buli Sim-Sim yesterday.
The 10,000 people who attended at the function had earlier marched in a procession from the Sandakan town padang to the mosque.
Ustaz Abdul Hadi was selected to received the Maulidur Rasul award in the men’s category, while Datuk Hajah Armani Haji Mahiruddin received the award for the women’s category.
Among those attended were Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Zakaria Edris, Sekong assemblyman, Datuk Samsudin Yahya, Sandakan Municipal Council president, Datuk James Wong, heads of government departments and community leaders.
Musa, later, also visited the Sandakan Airport which is under renovations. He was briefed by Malaysia Airport Bhd officials and the project consultant on the progress of the project.
