MCA regards as ludicrous Anwar’s allegation over Japan entry bar

KUALA LUMPUR: The MCA yesterday described as ludicrous the accusation by opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that Putrajaya influenced the Japanese government to bar his entry into that country.

MCA Special Task Force on International Issues chairman Dr Toh Kian Kok said the insistence by PKR Legal Bureau chief Latheefa Koya for Putrajaya to demand that the Japanese government rescind the ban and apologise to Anwar would also jeopardise the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

“Does the Malaysian government have so much free time informing the over 100 nations on this globe of the records of every individual convicted by the judiciary or suspected to have been involved in criminal activities in Malaysia?

“Unless such information has been requested by Interpol or countries seeking an extradition request, it is simply ridiculous for Pakatan to metaphorically allege that Putrajaya was the unseen hand behind Anwar’s entry bar,” he said in a statement here yesterday. – Bernama
