KUCHING: Wazoon Sdn Bhd is partnering a well-established multi-disciplinary engineering firm Dermaga Builders Sdn Bhd to explore potential water projects in Sarawak.
Dermaga Builders Sdn Bhd executive chairman Datuk Ir Che Mat Wanik and Wazoon Sdn Bhd managing director Mortadha Lau signed and exchanged a memorandum of agreement witnessed by Unimas vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi here recently.
Kadim said the partnership was in line with national aspiration to supply clean water to everyone which could be made possible through innovative engineering activities.
“The developed technology is environmentally sustainable and will meet the complex features to produce clean water at an affordable cost,” he said in a press statement received here yesterday.
The agreement ties the two parties to transfer machinery of ‘Clean Water from Green Technology’ from Dermaga Builders Sdn Bhd to industry and society.
Both organisations are also endeavouring to manufacture water treatment machinery for industrial and domestic applications and supplying clean water at affordable cost.
“The clean water technology and machinery developed at Unimas laboratory is good enough to support manufacturing industries to produce water for product processing, portable water for domestic use and wastewater treatment for recycling,” he added.
Meanwhile, Che Mat said the partnership represented a major milestone for his company in pursuing its business diversification plan of venturing into Sarawak.
“Dermaga Builders believes in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) especially in supporting sustainable social development.
“Dermaga Builder’s water treatment plant machinery will be suitable for industries as well as for processing fresh water from sea and brackish water for domestic and commercial purpose,” he added.
Mortadha expressed gratitude to Unimas and Dermaga Builders for their support.
“We will be setting up a technical facility in Kuching to support the installation and after sales service for the water treatment system,” he said.
