SAPP claims Likas rep playing ‘hide and seek game’

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) claimed that Likas assemblyman Junz Wong is playing a ‘hide and seek game’ to avoid being served with a legal suit from the party.

SAPP information chief Chong Pit Fah said party personnel had been trying to serve the suit since January but Wong had always been giving them the slip.

“We have been trying since January this year to serve the papers on him but he had been avoiding it. Despite having set an appointment, he will come up with excuses like falling sick,” he said, adding that the recent appointment was on Monday (Feb 10).

“In fact, if SAPP lawyer’s summons process server had wanted, the writ of summons could have been served earlier at the DAP and Pakatan Rakyat Chinese New Year event, but SAPP had preferred to observe the festive atmosphere and had repeatedly tried to make appointments by going to DAP office and Junz Wong’s office but to no avail,” he said.

Now, Wong had told SAPP that he was willing to meet their representative on Wednesday (Feb 12).

Chong said should Wong fail to keep the appointment this time SAPP might resort to advertising the legal suit in the newspapers as the means to serve it on him.
