KUCHING: Sarawak and Felda United played to a scoreless draw in the FA Cup quarter-final first-leg at the Selayang Stadium on Tuesday.

Despite the draw, head coach Robert Alberts told The Borneo Post yesterday that he was proud of the performances of his boys.

He had three key players sidelined, serving their suspensions. Gabor Gyepes and Junior Eldstal had collected two yellow cards each while Sani Anuar Kamsani was serving a two-match suspension for a red card.

“Mafry Balang was back playing after a period of absence due to an injury and he did well playing in the central defence.

“Reshafiq Alwi also had a good performance in the midfield during the match,” said Alberts.

Serbian striker Milorad Janjus was given the nod to start for the Crocs during the match while
Iranian Alireza Abbasfard came in late in the match for him.

Mohd Rashid Aya too started the match along with Joseph Kalang Tie who played a central role and Mohd Lot Abu Hassan while the defence featured Ramesh Lai Ban Huat, Hairol Mokhtar and Ronny Harun.

Mohd Fadzley Rahim manned the posts in Sani’s absence.

The two teams will meet for the second leg at Stadium Negeri on Feb 18. With the latest draw, the Crocs had come away unbeaten in three consecutive away matches.

Sarawak’s next match will be against Perak in the Super League at Stadium Negeri on Saturday.
