BINTULU: Kemena Zone is targeting 12 gold medals in the Track and Field event of Primary School Sports Council (MSSR) 2014 which will be held in the Bintulu stadium tomorrow and Wednesday, says its team manager Mohd Khaidir Mohd Arebi.
The event hosted by Kidurong Zone, involves 71 athletes from 13 Primary Schools here. They will be taking part in six field and track events respectively.
“This year has the highest number of contingents compared to the previous years,” he said when met during the MSSR Kemena Zone flag handing over ceremony at SJK Siong Boon yesterday.
He added with adequate preparation by the athletes, he was confident that Kemena Zone would prevail over three other zones namely Kidurong, Tatau and Sebauh.
Khaidir was confident the meet would produce outstanding young athletes.
