Rudy’s membership application rejected – DAP

KOTA KINABALU: DAP Sabah assistant organizing secretary Henry Shim reiterated that Rudy Mairi Sulaiman was not a DAP member who has allegedly defected from SAPP to join Barisan Nasional last week.

Henry said although had SAPP tried to show the picture and former organizing secretary Teresa Kok’s twitter statement to prove that Rudy had joined DAP, but it does not mean Rudy has been accepted to be a member of DAP.

He pointed out that every party has its own policy and regulation to approve its membership.

“We eventually found that Rudy was not credible and not committed to the party’s struggle, therefore we rejected his membership application. Hence, Rudy was never a DAP member,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Henry added all those so-called evidence showed by SAPP could just simply prove that Rudy was joining DAP by handing over his application form to Teresa and state chairman Jimmy Wong. However, the party reserved the right whether to approve it or not.

He said it was regretful that SAPP and its youth chief, Edward Dagul, repeatedly twisted and turned their statements on this issue but failed to prove Rudy was a DAP member.

“This is totally a different scenario and not comparable to Dr Hiew (King Cheu) and other defectors. Undeniable these defectors were used to be DAP members, but Rudy is not,” he said.

He clarified that DAP will be strictly upholding its struggle and party’s ideology.

“Every application of membership we will go through in detail and ensure that new members are committed and loyal to the party. It is to reduce the problem of defection in the future,” Henry added.
