KUCHING: Borneo Lady Biker Group will stage a 35km fundraising motorcycle ride on March 22 from 56 Hotel Kuching to Sinar Serapi Eco Theme Park Kuching in conjunction with its first anniversary.

“We are hoping to attract a big number of women motorcyclists to join the event,” she added.

Event director Laura Musa said proceeds of the ride will go to Borneo Lady Bikers Motorcycle Camaraderie (BLBMC) Charity Fund to benefit the underprivileged children and self-dependent mothers.

“This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme on that day will see an assembly of BLBMC associate members and other clubs to come together to make the charity drive a mission of unity,” she said to reporters at the BLBG fundraising press conference held at Hotel 56 here yesterday.

Laura said that BLBMC 2014 offers its unique local tone while maintaining a well-organised, fully-supported and an extraordinary overall experience in fundraising approach and training assistance, as well as a consistently high level of safety.

She said the ride brings participants together as individuals and as a team to conquer challenges and share unforgettable experiences with friends and co-workers while raising money to make a difference in the lives of people affected by poverty, physical disability, natural disasters and others.

Laura said that the challenge and camaraderie created by BLBMC makes it a team-building event of choice for corporations and organisations to support while providing a unique opportunity to move forward together towards building a caring and thoughtful nation.

“We hoped that with a good variety of riders’ programmes, the BLBMC club experience will be a good working and training ground for women motorcyclists,” she enthused.

Laura also hoped that their national efforts and their networks of chapters and sisterhood in local communities would bring novice and seasoned women motorcyclists to BLBMC to share the love for riding.
