KUCHING: A labourer, who pleaded guilty to five counts of statutory rape yesterday, will know his fate on March 26 when two judges deliver their judgements.

Khairuddin Mohd Ali, 32, from Simunjan — who appeared before Sessions Court judges Allaudeen Ismail and Nixon Keneddy Kumbong — admitted to all five charges framed under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code.

The Section provides for a maximum 20 years in prison.

He committed the five offences between 7pm and midnight last month at a house in a construction site at Jalan Matang here last month and early this month.

The victim reportedly ran away from her home in Simunjan earlier to be with Khairuddin and they are said to have had sex on five separate occasions at the same house.

Khairuddin was arrested on Tuesday last week.

He was not represented by any defence counsel while DPP Mahadhir Mohd Khairudin appeared for the prosecution.
