KUCHING: Tune Hotel Waterfront Kuching marked its fifth anniversary yesterday by holding the ‘Going Bald for Kids with Cancer’ programme to raise funds for the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society.

A total of 15 hotel staff had their heads shaved, with Tune Hotel Malaysia country head Kishore Suppiah leading the way.

The hotel made a RM6,300 donation to the campaign and pledged RM5 for each online booking for stays at Tune Hotel Waterfront Kuching for a period of one week from March 22.

Guests can also donate to SCCS through a donation box placed at the hotel’s reception.

Kishore said ‘Go Bald’ is a meaningful way to celebrate the hotel’s fifth anniversary and the hotel is very proud to contribute to SCCS.

“We want to tell them to always be strong, keep on fighting and stay positive,” he said.

Meanwhile, SCCS manager Jodie Sim said the ‘Go Bald’ tour will cover Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri and SCCS is looking for more volunteers and donors to participate.

‘Go Bald’ will make its first stop on May 6 at CityONE Megamall Kuching, before heading to Delta Mall in Sibu on May 11, followed by Parkcity Mall in Bintulu on May 18, and Miri’s Bintang Megamall on May 25.
