KOTA KINABALU: Body Shop Sabah handed over a donation of RM1,982.50 each to Sabah Women’s Action-Resource Group (Sawo) and Society for The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Kota Kinabalu (SPCA KK).

The donations were proceeds from the sale of their Dragon Fruit Lip Butter.

Body Shop’s marketing communications executive Lily Chin handed over the cheques to Sawo and SPCA KK last Tuesday at their Suria Sabah outlet.

The product was launched in 2012 by The Body Shop Foundation, which is The Body Shop International Plc’s charitable trust that supports innovative projects across the world working for social and environmental change.

According to a publicity release, Sawo is formed to act upon the increasing violence and injustice against women and children in our society, while SPCA KK prevents animal abuse and creates awareness to bring about change to situations and practices in which cruelty, neglect or unnecessary suffering of animal exist.

Also present were Sawo president Winnie and SPCA president Henny.

The Body Shop Sabah also thanked their valued customers and members for the good response in purchasing the lip butter to support local charity works.
